With August fast approaching, it's time to welcome you to another school year as a part of our Pauline Central family.

Our staff has been very busy this summer. Some of the teachers have participated in staff development workshops which enabled them to further their expertise in various curriculum areas. Others have spent time previewing instructional materials for use in their classrooms. Still others have participated on district level curriculum teams that help define and establish the curriculum for our schools. Along with all their summer work, I hope they've found some time to relax and refresh themselves in preparation for another busy school year.

Our school is undergoing a few changes this summer. The work this summer will finally complete the construction and renovation projects at our school that began last summer. Our playground is going to be completely updated with some new equipment and a rubber surface. We will also have new tile installed in our hallways.

Our custodial staff has been working hard to ensure that your children will start school in a clean and attractive building. They always do a great job and have our school looking beautiful when the students return on the first day of school.

We are excited to welcome two new members to our staff this year. Nicole Houser will be our new technology coach and Becky Balaun will be our new literacy coach. We hope you will take time to meet them and welcome them to Pauline Central when the new school year begins.

We need your cooperation and involvement to provide your child with the best education possible. Take time to talk with your children about their school experiences. Your interest and concern in their school progress will motivate them to do their best. Maintain contact with your children's teachers and with me. Ask questions and communicate concerns so we can build a partnership that will ensure your child's success.

Our school takes a great deal of pride in being one of the best in Kansas. We work hard to provide a high quality education for all children. I believe we have an outstanding staff and I'm confident your child will have an enjoyable experience in our school while achieving at a high level. I look forward to working with you toward a successful and rewarding school year.
